GWL Voices Member Michelle Bachelet Leads First In-Person Meeting of the Ibero-American Network of Women in Politics in Panama

GWL Voices member Michelle Bachelet, led the first in-person meeting of the Ibero-American Network of Women in Politics, held in Panama on October 22 and 23 under the joint secretariat of Club de Madrid and UN Women. The meeting brought together women political leaders from 14 Ibero-American countries to strengthen regional coordination, exchange experiences and advance a shared work agenda.

Participants included ministers, parliamentarians, mayors and other women leaders with experience in decision-making roles, as well as experts and representatives of United Nations agencies and regional and international organizations.

In her remarks, Ms. Bachelet underlined that the Network’s purpose goes beyond convening its members: it aims to enable them to achieve together more than they could separately, turning individual experience into shared knowledge, diversity into partnerships, and convictions into concrete initiatives.

GWL Voices participated in the meeting to strengthen the Women in Politics initiative.
