In a pivotal year for the future of international relations and marked by the renewal of the United Nations Secretary-General, GWL Voices will present the “Women in Multilateralism” (WIM) Report 2026, data that challenge the status quo and help reimagine how global leadership is exercised, on 29 January at 3:00 p.m. at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid.
The presentation will take place within the framework of the GWL Voices Dialogue 2026 “Women leading the UN of the 21st century”, which will bring together more than one hundred high level leaders. The gathering will feature prominent global leaders including Michelle Bachelet, Rebeca Grynspan, María Fernanda Espinosa, Noeleen Heyzer, Sigrid Kaag and Sahle-Work Zewde.
The third edition of the report presents one of the first comprehensive analyses of every known official candidate for UN Secretary-General since 1945, alongside updated 2025 data on gender parity across 62 major multilateral organizations.
The report will be presented by Nudhara Yusuf, Co-chair of the Coalition for the UN We Need (C4UN), and the founders of GWL Voices, Susana Malcorra (Former Argentine Foreign Minister & former chief staff of the Secretary General of the United Nations), Helen Clark (former Prime Minister of New Zealand & UNDP Administrator), and Irina Bokova (former Director-General of UNESCO & former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria), three women with unique experience, will serve as media spokespersons following the presentation: the three of them have stood as candidates to lead the United Nations and they’ve seen the Secretary-General selection process from the inside.
Media accreditation is required. Please confirm your attendance.
