Launch of the Words Matter Report

How does language shape power in the multilateral system? At this UNGA 81 side event, GWL Voices and the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) will launch Words Matter, a GWL Voices new research report examining how references to women, gender, and representation have evolved in UN Security Council resolutions over the past decade.

Bringing together diplomats, researchers, students, and multilateral leaders, the event will explore why language is more than rhetoric—it shapes legitimacy, influences implementation, and determines whose priorities become part of the global agenda.
