HerTurn: A Conversation Across Generations

Share

As part of GWL Voices’ Her Turn initiative, HerTurn: A Conversation Across Generations on Climate Leadership will bring together senior women leaders in climate governance and a group of young students from the Columbia Climate School and youth-led organisations for an intimate intergenerational dialogue during Climate Week NYC 2026.

The conversation will explore what it means to build a career in climate leadership as a young woman, from being heard in rooms where you may be the youngest or only woman, to navigating the urgency of climate action alongside the slower pace of multilateral processes. Bringing together perspectives from different generations and regions, the dialogue will create space for honest reflection, knowledge exchange, and inspiration.

Moving beyond the traditional panel format, the session will focus on the personal and collective anchors that sustain long-term engagement with climate action. Participants will reflect on resilience, mentorship and sponsorship, the emotional dimensions of climate work, and how youth perspectives can shape—not simply inform—the future of multilateral climate agendas. The dialogue will also introduce GWL Voices’ forthcoming analysis of COP31’s Action Agenda, inviting interested students to contribute to the next phase of this work.

This event is by invitation only.
