GWL Voices at Beijing 1995: Stories of Leadership, Legacy, and Change

Share
Thirty years ago, the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing marked a turning point in the global struggle for gender equality. The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action remain the most ambitious agenda ever agreed for advancing women’s rights.
In this publication, GWL Voices members share their personal testimonies and reflections on how that historic moment shaped their journeys, and how its legacy continues to inspire today’s battles for equality, justice, and representation.
Through their stories, we see how the spirit of Beijing is still alive: in the fight against backlash, in the push for women’s leadership at the highest levels, and in the unshakable belief that a better, fairer world is possible.
Download and read the publication to revisit the commitments of Beijing through the voices of those who lived it, and to draw inspiration for the work that lies ahead.
